District Cub Cyclocross

 

Do your Cubs want to have a go at some off-road challenges on their bikes? If so, this is a great event to have a go at:

  • racing through woodland, up and down slopes
  • testing out your agility skills on balance beams and through obstacles
  • speeding round a time trial course as fast as your bike can go

 

DATE –            Sunday 18th May 2025

WHERE –          Phasels Wood Activity Centre (access via A41)

TIME –             Register between 13:30 – 14:00, Walk the course at 14:00, Events start from 14:30

Finish at 17:00

TEAMS –          You will need a team of four Cubs aged between the ages of 8 and 11

COST –             £25 per team.

Enter as a Pack or get together with others in your District and enter a mixed team.

 

Rules and Further Information

 

Each team must provide two adults. One adult will need to supervise the teams, and the other adult will need to help marshal the course. Any extra adult help on the day would be gratefully received.

 

The events are:

1) A relay race, off road, through tracks, obstacles, up and down hill

2) A scored agility course

3) A timed flat longer race

 

Cubs MUST be confident cyclists, able to get on and off their bike and lift the bike

 

**Bikes with defective brakes and steering will not be able to take part.**

 

Helmets must be worn at all times when on the bike.

Long trousers and a top with sleeves should be worn to protect arms and legs.

Cubs can only represent one team.

Description:

Phasels Wood Activity Centre is just 3 miles form Junction 20 of the M25 towards Hemel Hempstead on the A41. The entrance is in the second lay-by from the M25 roundabout. There is a sign just before the lay-by: ‘Scout Camp access via lay-by’.

There is no postal address or postcode for the main entrance, so to find the site you will need to follow the above directions. Please ensure these details are passed onto all leaders/parents and travel companies.
