Outline Role Descriptions
- Youth Recruitment – taking the lead on recruiting youth members and organising the district’s presence at community events to raise the profile of Scouting.
- District Scout Network Leader – lead the Scout Network section, ensuring a lively programme for 18-25 year olds.
- ADC Adult Support – supporting new adults through the early part of their training and to mix between groups. Encouraging adults to develop and share their skills.
- ADC Beaver Scouts – to support Beaver Scout colonies deliver interesting programmes and facilitating discussion between colonies to encourage joint-working where appropriate.
- District Beaver Scout Leader – be part of a team supporting the Beaver section (either note-taking, organising events or mentoring new leaders)
- ADC Cub Scouts – to support Cub Scout packs deliver interesting programmes and facilitating discussion between packs to encourage joint-working where appropriate.
- District Cub Scout Leader– be part of a team supporting the Cub section (either note-taking, organising events or mentoring new leaders)
- District Scout Leader – be part of a team supporting the Scout section (either note-taking, organising events or mentoring new leaders)
Group Scout Leader roles
A number of groups have GSL vacancies – each situation is different and requires an individual with differing skills, however the GSL is responsible for the following tasks being completed
- Managing and supporting leaders to deliver great programmes, safely andd according the the rules
- Recruiting, inducting, supporting and reviewing volunteers into the sections and onto the group executive committee
- Ensuring the group is well financed and has good standing in the local community
- Meeting the demand from the community so that every child who wants to join has the chance to do so
- Maintaining a good relationship with the Explorer Scout section
- Participating in the district team/GSL meetings to influence the district’s strategy
